       v      Methodists 101

A class led by Rev. Lynn Barton for new members, those who are thinking about joining, or anyone who wants to know more about being a Christian in the United Methodist tradition that introduces the most basic vows and beliefs of the United Methodist Church.

Methodists 101 will have two different meeting days; you can choose which series best fits your schedule.  The Sunday track will meet on Sundays at 10:10 a.m. in Room 200.  The Wednesday track will meet in the Library on Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm.  To express your interest or register, click here.

v      Rethink Life

An informal discussion group that will meet weekly to think about life, no faith required. If you are interested, click here.

 

v      Cross Trainers: Exercising Everyday Spirituality

A new group that will explore the connections among healthy mind, body, and spirit. The group will meet weekly to share scripture, prayer, and devotion centering upon the theme of keeping fit mentally, physically, and spiritually. Participants may choose to join in a fitness walk together after the meetings. Day and time to be determined. v      Fall Men's Bible Study

 A Fall Men's Bible Study, led by Rev. Jim Austin, that will meet on Wednesdays, at 7:15 am and 12 noon.  The morning meeting has coffee and light breakfast; the noon meeting has lunch ($4 a person for lunch).  To express your interest or register, click here.

v      Heart-to-Heart Women's Bible Study

A women’s Bible study and discussion group that meets weekly to focus on rotating topics and special Bible studies. “Heart to Heart” meets Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. in Room 403.  To express your interest or register, click here.

 

v   Deborah Circle

The Deborah Circle is a group that meets on the 2nd Wednesday of of the month at 5:30 pm in Room 403 of the Taylor Building. Cathy Barton leads the group in a once-monthly study of a current book or scripture and provides an opportunity for members new and old to get to know each other. v      Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study

Disciple I is an intensive, 9-month course where 80%of the Bible is read.  It's not just about information, but transformation as your small group talks about Scripture, learns life concepts contained in the Bible, and prays together.  Disciple I will be led by Rev. Dr. Lynn Barton and Cathy Barton.  The course will meet Sundays at 4:30 pm in the Library, August 30th to mid-May.  To find out more or register, click here.

v      Disciple II: Into the Word, Into the World*

This thirty-two-week study, designed for people who have completed Disciple I, selects specific portions of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts and dives deeply into them to understand both the journeys made in the past and the journeys we make today.  Classes are organized in much the same way as Disciple I: participants read daily readings and journal in their workbooks and then meet weekly to watch a topical video and discuss the readings from the previous week.  This class will meet on Sundays at 6 p.m.  To find out more or register, click here.
